To visualize the data from her capstone research activity, Anika used hue, size, and position. The x-axis represents time with each rectangular block representing an activity and indicating how long the activity took. The position of the blocks corresponds to when she did that activity in relation to the entire research process. The colors of the blocks represent her mood during the activity. She tried to keep the mood representations relatively high-level and abstract. One thing Anika found interesting about her postcard was noticing her mood remained neutral for most of the process: she didn’t feel particularly happy or sad or annoyed. Additionally, she noted that communication was always happening in the background, so the bar extends the entire length of the postcard. See the back of the postcard for the key and other details!
