Anika’s design awareness question was, “How often do I get distracted while doing things?” Her activity was studying for her finance class midterm. The card reads from top to bottom. It’s intentionally not easy to see the order of her activities, because Anika wanted to show the back and forth nature of her work. The two types of her distractions are represented by blue and red, showing how often she gets distracted while doing certain activities. Blue is texting, and red is social media. Using this representation, Anika is considering better ways to distribute these distraction times—for example, having them as breaks at the end of activities, rather than sprinkled throughout her work.
