Christian’s design awareness question was, “How often am I getting distracted throughout my design process?” which he analyzed using data he captured on his sewing process. Through this postcard he wanted to make sure that a viewer could also understand where he was in the design process, so he made sure to visualize this design awareness goal in a way that meshes his video-capturing method and the design phases he went through. Each bar represents one minute in a design phase, and the colors represent different phases of his sewing process (with black representing interruption or distraction). The second yellow column represents a lengthy period of learning and setup, which corresponds to Christian figuring out how to use a new sewing machine. See the back of the postcard for the key and other details!
