Christina’s design awareness question was, “How do my emotions change during the activity?” Her activity was a hackathon, and she represented her emotions using multicolored circles. Each circle represents a stage, and the colors correlate to emotions: yellow is excited, blue is stressed, and gray is tired. If there is more than one color in a circle, the outline of that circle is made by a combination of the colors, representing the overall emotion of that design stage. The size of the circle represents the time spent on that stage. For example, the prototype circle is the largest and Christina felt excited but mostly stressed during it, so there is much more blue in the circle, and the outline is more blue-yellow.
