For this postcard, Aishwarya’s activity was a take home design assignment, and she was inspired by the innovation planning model (see Dubberly). Aishwarya liked this model because it gives her all the four stages and the X and Y axes of abstract-to-real and know-to-make, which are interesting ways for her to interpret her work. The cycle is divided into four quadrants with four colors, based on the four design stages she went through. The question mark represents the hypothesis, and the exclamation point represents places where she implements her design. The size of each wedge represents the amount of time spent in each design stage.
