In this postcard, the anonymous designer visually represented how they move through the design process. Through the line representing the design path, they wanted to see what places involve intense work (the filled-in areas). For example, in modeling (the green section) they experience deeper and more involved work, which is why the design path is filled in. Each switch in direction is a turning point, where you might turn back to a previous stage or iterate through multiple stages. This helped the designer reflect on the turning points in their process.
