How to Represent Design

Instructions

Step 1

Pick two postcards from the Dear Design postcard journey for either topic 2 or topic 3.

Step 2

Examine the postcards that you chose and indicate what kind of data is being represented. 

Step 3

Decide and indicate what data model matches the data type (nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio). You can reference the slides here if you need reminders.

Step 4

Indicate the encoding method and note if it is consistent with the properties of the data.

Step 5

Answer the following questions:

1. What did you learn by thinking about data in this way? 
2. How might this inform how you might think about your next postcard?
