“Design Awareness Questions” focuses on learners thinking about what they want to be aware of in the design process, both broadly and of their own process. The question, “What do I want to be aware of?” helps individuals be more intentional about where they are in the design process while they are in it; this is known as design awareness, and it enables individuals to make informed choices for moving forward in their design work. The activity, Forming Design Awareness Questions, has two parts—part one asks learners to brainstorm five to six questions about their design process they are interested in answering; part two asks learners to look back at their postcards and notice if they can answer their design awareness questions. With these considerations in mind, the learners will create their Design Awareness Questions postcard, focusing on the questions they are interested in.
