"Design Inspirations" is guided by the question, "What inspires you as a designer?" to provide space for learners to think about themselves as designers. Learners explore a list of responses to the prompt, “Good Designers do 'X'”, from a community of design researchers and educators. The activity, Good Designers do "X", asks learners to group the list of responses into themes, and then each learner selects the top three responses/themes that resonate most with them. The Design Inspirations postcard tasks the learner to incorporate elements they find inspirational, whether from outside sources or from the Good Designers do "X" activity, to their design representation.
The contributors to the "Good Designers do 'X'" list have graciously given their permission to post their responses on this website. If you use the response list, we ask that you keep the author name with each statement so that their work is attributed to them.
